Elected Secretary of Botanical Society of Otago

At the May AGM of the Botanical Society of Otago (BSO), I was elected to the role of Secretary. I am excited to undertake a committee role like this once again as I haven’t done such “extra-curricular” work since my PhD, and it will be my first role in a professional type of society. I have some very big shoes to fill, but the committee has been very welcoming and the former secretary is patiently mentoring me in my duties. I look forward to being more active in the BSO and posting updates on our activities.

36th John Child Bryophyte & Lichen Workshop

I attended the 36th annual John Child Bryophyte & Lichen Workshop held at Pureora Lodge on the North Island from 8-13 November 2018. It was a fantastic weekend of hands-on learning for bryophyte identification and interacting with non-vascular plant enthusiasts from across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. Continue reading
